Gas stop: The 11 Best Mileage Cars for 2016

6. Ford Focus Electric: Blue oval, green personality
Base price: $30,045
Fuel economy rating: 105 MPGe

Were it not for the “ELECTRIC” badge on the front doors, you’d be hard-pressed to tell the 2016 Ford Focus Electric hatchback from a gas-only Focus.

For style-conscious shoppers, this could be a very good thing. Also very good is the fact that the Electric model retains the roominess and sporty driving dynamics of its conventional siblings. Despite having just 143 horsepower, this car is more than capable of keeping up with everyday traffic, and it can even achieve a top speed of 84 mph. Range anxiety might be an issue, though, as the battery pack is rated for only 23 kWh, resulting in a maximum driving distance of only 76 miles. At least they will be an entertaining 76 miles.
