Expected out in the first quarter of of 2014, to be built in Arlington, TX, the Chevrolet suburban and the Chevrolet Tahoe will be all new for model year 2015. Already dominating the full-size SUV category (something GM is happy to discuss), GM believes they have “set the bar high to ensure we provide our customers with great quality and performance they expect and deserve.”
For GM the highlights of the Tahoe and Suburban’s redesign include increased safety features, connectivity, and fuel economy. GM also highlight the new design that they say is “more refined and precisely sculpted” than previous models.
New and returning safety features are aimed to help the car avoid accidents, protect passengers in the event of an accident, and prevent break ins.
The two full-size SUVs will use GM’s EcoTec3 powertrain. The powertrain uses a 5.3L V8 with improvements meant for more opportunities for the engine to be four-cylinder mode which will improve fuel economy.
Like all new vehicles, the Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe will have the latest technology inside the cabin to insure the riders stay connected. In fact, the two large SUVs allow up to 12 devices stay connected, with up to 6 USB Ports and 6 outlets.
