7. Mini Cooper Paceman
The 2017 Mini Cooper Paceman hatchback reflects its British craftsmanship through style, comfort and performance. Unlike the Subaru Impreza, the MINI Paceman is not offered as a standard AWD in all trims. And as of now, no one has tested how many ears of corn can fit inside. What we do know is that this 2-door hatchback can comfortably accommodate up to four adults.
The Paceman is loved for its luxurious drive, advanced technology and supportive seats. The interior design includes captain style seats in the back with armrest and cup holders. It is small enough to Parallel Park downtown and spacious enough to Uber people around town. The MINI Paceman is the perfect hatchback to efficiently zip around town, no matter which model you choose:
- Cooper (starting at $23,500 with 121HP)
- Cooper S (starting at $26,900 with 181HP)
- Cooper S ALL4 (starting at $28,600 with 181HP)
- John Cooper Works ALL4 (starting at $35,600 with 208HP)
All four trims come with a 1.6L 4-cylinder turbocharged aluminum engine. The ALL4 is MINI’s all-wheel drive option that adds variable valve lift timing to increase performance. All trims being are built for performance featuring MacPherson struts in the front and a refined multi-link suspension to assist the rear. It is a tough car to compare other models to because of MINI’s unique 2-door design and features. Your inner-self may crave the gas pedal and steering wheel that glides through your hands, but your pocket book might not be willing to budge. Maintenance cost for your MINI should be expected to be more frequent and higher than something like the Subaru Impreza.
